It’s another snow day. I love the snow and I love the rain. Something about it brings me calm and makes me reflective. On days like this, my mind stays at work projecting the details of my future. Some may call it meditation or imagination. I believe that we don’t necessarily have to live by default. It is very possible to live life by design.
A few months ago, my mentor shared a wonderful truth with me. He said, “the future is not predicted but the future is created.” We are co-creators with God. This means that God does not do everything for us. I believe He takes joy in us participating in creation with Him.
Creation starts in the mind–filling your mind with the images you desire. In other words, creation is seeing. See yourself as the person you’d like to become with your mind’s eye. Secondly, creation is feeling. An emotion should be attached to the image you see.
For example, I desire to purchase another home. I have had my eye on a particular house that’s for sale. I drive by the property often and sit in the driveway. My next step is to make an appointment with the realtor so I can walk through every room in order to make an emotional connection. If I can ever make a visual and emotional connection with anything…it’s a wrap because it is mine.
This is the process to ful-FILL-ment. Feel the desire and “fill” yourself with it. You can convince your subconscious mind to believe and feel that anything is true. The most powerful thing anyone can do is search the word of God and meditate on who God says you are and what He says you can have. (For more discussion on imagination, the conscious and subconscious mind, purchase my book “Beauty from the Inside Out” from amazon or my website).
See it, feel it and then act like it’s so. It is so important to be your desire. If you desire to be successful, act like successful people do. Dress as they dress…read what they read…speak as they speak. If you desire to be a great musician, pattern what great musicians do. In a nutshell, we can act the part until we become our desire.
It’s a good practice to create a mental image of your ideal self. The mind will always try to complete what it pictures. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. You are the beloved of God. You are worthy. You are attractive and desirable. Most importantly, you are more than enough. Imagination is creation and your future is filled with endless possibilities!
May peace and prosperity be with you always.
